Bog Body 01:42
I woke up angry again I'm pissed off at someone again I'm pissed off at someone again It doesn't matter at all 'Cause everyone's got shit with them 'Cause everyone's got shit with them I love so many things I'm just chemically challenged I love so many things I'm just chemically challenged

Flesh is the only fragile thing we have

Pity Party 01:52
When I was young, I was told that I was a mistake But now, I'm trying to correct it Standing in a bathtub, water engulfing my feet Rinsing the soap off my body and the money from my pockets My hands are numb, I think I can see my own breath But I guess I'm just feeling a bit dramatic I could go outside but I don't feel safe anymore The sounds of birds replaced by arguments across the street
5.
Untitled II 01:10
6.
I was in my own head Five layers into my bed Can't sleep It's never dark enough When I come home From the unknown Please say hello to me
7.
Struggle to find the light switch I'll just sit in darkness Listening to neighbours arguments On a night Like any other night It's my mother's hands I think of before I sleep Cowered in for warmth The smell of cypress candles On a night Like any other night

about

Pity Party is Sona Koloyan's debut release; an entirely self-made album of songs all under two minutes with mastering by Naomi Jackson of the Omnii collective. Armed with quiet vocals and midi organ swells recorded in various bedrooms, Pity Party explores the subtle yet all-consuming nuances of otherness experienced as an immigrant in the UK. Sona's Armenian heritage is an un-erasable part of her identity, and its meaning as a lifelong foreigner is always ever-changing, transforming, pushing and pulling. Utilising all she could use, from iPhones to underwear drawers, Pity Party is an intimate confession of anger, longing, identity, and self-love.

Pity Party is also available on SoundCloud.
